2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect the following information:

  • Username and email address
  • Password (encrypted)
  • First and last name (optional)

2.2 Font and Glyph Data

Important: We do NOT store the original font files you upload. Instead, we extract and store only the glyph data as SVG paths in our database. This means:

  • Your original font files (TTF, OTF, WOFF, etc.) are sent to our server for processing but are not retained as uploaded files
  • Only the extracted glyph path data is stored in our database
  • We store extracted font metadata, including any embedded license description, license URL, and embedding flags
  • Your font projects contain the SVG path representations of your glyphs
  • This allows us to provide editing, preview, and export capabilities without storing your original files

2.3 Rights confirmation records

When you confirm rights before uploading, exporting, or globally sharing a font, we retain an audit record containing your account ID, the action and exact statement accepted, policy version, timestamp, profile details, detected license-screening result, and, for uploads, the original filename and a one-way SHA-256 file hash. The hash helps identify the submitted file without retaining the file itself.

2.4 Telemetry Data

To improve your experience and make FontCAD better, we collect anonymous telemetry data. This includes:

  • Which buttons and features are being clicked or used
  • Which routes/pages are being visited
  • General usage patterns and feature adoption
  • Technical information such as browser type and screen resolution

What we do NOT collect: We explicitly do NOT collect location data, personally identifiable information (PII), or any sensitive personal details. All telemetry data is anonymous and aggregated for analysis purposes only.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and maintain your account
  • To provide and improve the FontCAD Service
  • To analyze usage patterns and enhance user experience
  • To send you service-related announcements and updates

As mentioned, font files are not stored permanently. Only the extracted SVG glyph data is retained as part of your project data. Rights-confirmation and complaint records may be retained after project or account deletion when reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, prevent abuse, or comply with law, subject to applicable retention limits.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only when:

  • Required by law or legal process
  • Necessary to protect the rights, privacy, safety, or property of FontCAD and our users
  • With your explicit consent
  • With our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy) to process subscription payments and handle billing

6. Payment Processing

FontCAD uses Lemon Squeezy as its payment processor. When you subscribe to our Service, your payment information (including credit card details) is processed by Lemon Squeezy, not stored on our servers. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for all transactions. Your payment data is subject to Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy and Security standards.

For subscription management, billing inquiries, and payment-related questions, you can contact Lemon Squeezy directly through their support channels. We comply with Lemon Squeezy's requirements regarding refund policies and acceptable use.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
